- Cut one 4 ½” square of (C).
- Cut four 4 ½” squares Of (B).
- Cut two 4 7/8” squares of (B).
- Cut one 4 ½” square of (A).
- Cut two 4 7/8” squares of (A).
- Make three (A) / (B) half-square triangles.
- Join one (A)/(B) half-square triangle with the (A) triangle in the upper right to one (B) square to one (A) / (B) half- square triangle with the (A) triangle in the lower left. This makes Row 1.
- Join one (B) square to one (A) square to one (B) square. This makes Row 2.
- Join one (C) square to one (B) square to one (A) / (B) half-square triangle with the (A) triangle in the upper right. This makes Row 3.
- Join the three rows as shown.
- Cut squares from the two chosen fabrics that are 7/8" larger than the finished size of the units.
- Place right sides together with the lighter square on top. Draw a diagonal line on the lighter fabric from one corner to the opposite corner. Stitch ¼” on each side of the marked line.
- Cut the triangles apart on the center line and press open. There will be 2 half square triangles that should measure finished size plus ½”.
