February, 2013
This month you have the opportunity to be creative and make most of the decisions. February`s block requirement is a heart(s) made from red floral print fabric placed on a white or white on white background. The background square should measure 9 1/2" unfinished, 9" finished. Please cut the background larger until you are finished working on it. The fabric for the heart should have at least one large flower on it or many small flowers. Look for a pattern or draw your own pattern.
Designing your block: The heart can be by itself, or add other hearts, a stem/leaves to make it look like a flower, or any embellishment (lace, beads, etc). You choose: size, shape (symmetrical or asymmetrical), position of the heart on the background, pieced, or appliquéd (needle-turned, buttonhole stitched, fused & stitched, stitched by machine or by hand).
LET YOUR IMAGINATION SOAR.
