Four Patch Unit

July, 2013

With right sides together, place a 5” light fabric square on a dark 5” square. Stitch a ¼” seam on opposite sides of the square. Cut the unit in half so that each piece measures 2 ½” x 5”. Press each unit open. With right sides of each piece together, align the seams so that the dark and light fabrics are opposite each other. Again, stitch ¼” seam on opposite sides of the square. Cut the resulting unit in half so that each four-patch unit measures 4 ½” x 4 ½”. Make four more sets and bring all 10 to the July meeting.
